It was just a normal Saturday night. Well, except for the fact that the family and I were headed south to Clevland, MS to lead worship in revival. Oh and the fact that the entire western side of MS was covered with several tornados and severe thunderstorms. Oh and there was the little matter of the flash flood that almost rendered us washed off the road. Oh yea and there was the little matter of the belt slipping of the van.(yes the main belt). WOW! What a night. However let me share with you how God provides. It all began about two weeks ago on a cold friday night. We were all at Walmart in Jackson. We paused in the parking lot for a few min to feed the little man and long story short when we got back to the car the battery was dead. So the following Monday Bro. Clint and I discovered that this battery was in its sixth year and it was DEAD! So i was forced to get a new battery. Now fast forward to Saturday Feb. 24. We were traveling southwest on Hwy. 278. We stopped at a traffic light and I heard the storm sirens going off. It alarmed us but the weather was actually pretty calm. THen the most undescribably rain and wind set in on us. We were about three miles out of Oxford, MS and we were just at a stand still. The water level on the road rose to a few inches and in the midst of our inching forward I noticed that I did not have power steering. I was quite alarmed and then I saw the battery light come on. It was then that i told mandy to escalate her prayer. Abbey had become a little frightened about the rain and the situation was getting very anxious. I stopped and the weather broke and I got out and looked and sure enough the belt was just hanging there. I was mortified. It was just getting time for Bryant to eat so he was getting edgy. I made some calls and the two people I called it went straight to voice mail. I was getting scared. So i finally got through to one of my main dudes. (Daris) He gave me a peptalk assured me that he would pray for us and told me to head back to Oxford and get "somewhere" That was the boost i needed. You see i had lost my belt that meant my alternator. So i was running completely on battery. It was dark rainy and i was afraid that the battery would wear down and I would be stranded for sure.(remember the new battery I just bought) Thank God. We made it back to safety and Mandy saw an exit with an advance auto parts. We went there and they could not help. He told us of someone that would come fix it in the morning, but that would make us miss the morning service of revival and who know how much that kind of repair would cost. We went a couple blocks more and there was a comfort inn. We got out for the night and went inside. It was then that the second person i called (Fletcher) called me back. He had been in a tornado shelter hiding from a storm. I told him the trouble and he drove up from Grenada and he put the belt on for me.(let me just pause and say Thank you Lord) We made it on time for revival and God is to be Praised and Exalted for his perfect plan. It seems that sometimes our circumstances call for us to just throw in the towel, but i finally just went to the bathroom last night and wept at how God provides for me and my family. I personally do not deserve a single good thing, but God continues to lavish me with protection and help in time of need. To God Be The Glory.
ONE PRAYER CONCERN>>>"Last night in our whole situation Bryant was left on the bed rolled around and fell off. He seems to be hurting still today when we pick him up so please pray for him. Tonight he was sitting in his little exersaucer and was jumping and doing great but is still a little tender under his arms" Please pray for him. We are 200+ miles from our Doc. We will be back Thursday so pray for God to heal him. TO GOD BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE IS DOING>>>>
